Based on a simple and noble idea of "dissecting the impossible to make

it attainable", Erwan Le Lann set out from Finistère in January 2015 for a

five-year adventure around the globe and via the poles.

Aboard Maewan, a 10-meter yacht, he first sailed to Greenland before

charting a course for Kamchatka, Japan and Papua New Guinea. 2018 will

mark his arrival in southern waters. While Erwan Le Lann may have devised

the Maewan project, the main idea is to create a floating base camp for a

whole range of different athletes, allowing them to achieve new challenges.

Through their involvement in Maewan, whether they're sailors, climbers

or skiers, the participants are fully aware of one thing: this adventure is

much more than just another sporting exploit. Maewan is an inner journey

where everyone finds out who they are in the face of hardship, where the

exploration of new lands and learning about differences between peoples,

will change their vision of the world. The Maewan project will run until the

end of 2019. But the mark it leaves will be eternal.

atteignable », Erwan Le Lann a embarqué sur un voilier en janvier 2015

depuis le Finistère pour une aventure de cinq ans autour du globe et par

les pôles.

Maewan, voilier de 10 mètres de long, a d’abord navigué vers le Groenland

avant de prendre la direction du Kamtchatka, du Japon et de la Papouasie.

L’année 2018 marquera l’arrivée dans les eaux australes. Mais si Erwan Le

Lann a imaginé le projet Maewan, c’est avant tout créer un camp de base

flottant pour rassembler des athlètes et leur permettre d’atteindre de

nouveau challenges.

Mais en s’engageant avec Maewan, qu’ils soient navigateurs, grimpeurs,

skieurs, les participants avaient bien conscience d’une chose : cette aventure

dépasse largement le cadre de l’exploit sportif. Maewan est une aventure

intérieure où chacun se découvre face aux épreuves, où l’exploration de

nouveaux territoires et l’apprentissage des différences entre les peuples,

change sa vision du monde. Le projet Maewan se terminera à la fin de l’année

2019. Mais la trace restera éternelle.
