PierraMenta and full marks for theWorld Cup season, Laetitia
won't let anything pass her by. So does she still enjoy it? "Winning your
first world cup is exhilarating of course, but the emotions are just as
strong with others. Only not for the same reasons!" explains Laetitia.
"I enjoy everything that happens around the sport more and more,
and especially the personal connections." What does she like about
the sport? "Ultimately, when all is said and done, what I like is the way
of life around the concessions you have to make, the healthy lifestyle
choices, the exacting standards. Yes, really, it's the ski mountaineering
lifestyle. I absolutely love this sport. And to help it progress aswell. And
I chose Julbo because I like their philosophy, their way of doing things
and their involvement in ski mountaineering. I like how they share things
with athletes. Giving feedback on products is good, but when you get a
response afterwards it's even better!"
The champion from the Hautes-Alpes now draws her inspiration from
up-and-coming generations: "I'm perhaps more generous towards
others nowadays. More open. Young people giveme a boost. They're the
future. I feel their recognitionwhenwe chat together. I sense something
shining in their eyes that motivatesme." And in return, she teaches them
values that go way beyond sport, such as self-respect and the values
of the famous ski mountaineering "art of living".

ne laisse rien passer. Si elle arrive encore à s’en réjouir ? "Gagner sa
première coupe du monde est enivrant, c’est sûr, mais les sensations
sont toujours aussi fortes. Simplement, plus pour les mêmes raisons !"
raconte Laetitia. "J’apprécie de plus en plus tout ce qui se passe autour,
et en particulier les relations humaines." Ce qu’elle apprécie dans ce
sport ? "Finalement, tout bien pensé, ce qui me plaît, c’est ce mode de
vie autour des concessions à faire, de l’hygiène de vie, la rigueur. Oui,
vraiment, c’est le lifestyle ski-alpinisme. Ce sportme tient à cœur. Le faire
avancer aussi. D’ailleurs, j’ai choisi Julbo parce que j’aime leur philosophie,
leur dynamique et leur implication vis-à-vis du ski-alpinisme. J’aime leur
partage avec les athlètes. Donner des retours sur les produits, c’est
bien, mais quand c’est réactif, derrière, c’est mieux !". Ses émotions, la
championne haut-alpine les puise dorénavant auprès des générations
qui arrivent : "Je suis peut-être plus généreuse vis-à-vis des autres,
aujourd’hui. Plus ouverte. Les jeunesme boostent. Le futur, c’est eux. Je
sens leur reconnaissance quand on échange. Dans leurs yeux, je sens
briller quelque chose qui me motive." Et, en retour, elle leur transmet
des valeurs qui vont bien au-delà du sport. Des valeurs de respect d’eux-
mêmes, du fameux "art de vivre" ski-alpinisme.

Most of the time, she's adored. But some people get
annoyed. The 2015 quadruple world champion continues
to impose her supremacy but winning everything, you
see, can get on other people's nerves. But now, the
fearless, flawless little sportswoman has grown up
and, by her own admission, "opened up to other people".
Maybe it's time we took another look at Laetitia Roux,
the woman.
La plupart du temps, on l’adule. Mais certains s’agacent.
La quadruple championne du monde 2015 continue
d’imposer sa suprématie mais tout gagner, cela peut
énerver, vous comprenez ? Seulement voilà, la petite
sportive sans peur et sans reproches a grandi et "s’est
ouverte aux autres", de son propre aveu. De quoi
adopter un autre regard sur Laetitia Roux, la femme.
The 2015 Pierra Menta was a double victory for Laetitia, firstly in terms
of sporting performance, but also at heart level: she set herself the goal
of leaving the starting line with team-mate Miréia Miro, who'd stopped
competing last year and wasn't quite back in top form yet. She believed in
her and kept goingwhen necessary. And they crossed the finish line together,
ahead of the pack! The Grande Course circuit of international races is what
really gets Laetitia's heart racing. The technical, elevated Alpine routes of the
PierraMenta, Adamello andMezzalama allowher to fully express her talent.
La Pierra Menta 2015 est une double victoire pour Laetitia, celle de la
performance sportive et celle du cæur, là encore : elle avait fait le pari
de franchir la ligne de départ avec comme co-équipière Miréia Miro, qui
avait arrêté la compétition l’an dernier et revenait un peu "just". Elle a
cru en elle, l’a tirée quand il le fallait. Et la ligne d’arrivée, c’est ensemble
et en tête qu’elles l’ont franchie ! Le circuit de la Grande Course est
ce qui fait battre le cœur de Laetitia. Les parcours alpins, techniques,
aériens, de la Pierra Menta, de l’Adamello ou de la Mezzalama sont
ceux sur lesquels elle peut exprimer son talent.
