A tribute. And a new challenge. Twenty years after
Patrick de Gayardon threw himself out of a plane in a
wingsuit before then climbing back aboard, Fred Fugen
and Vincent Reffet wanted to repeat the experience,
but in their own way: "by starting from a cliff." In late
November, the two parachuting heroes jumped from
a Pilatus plane at 4,062 meters above the Swiss Alps.
At more than 80 miles an hour, the door measuring
5 feet high by 4 feet wide can look like a mouse hole.
It took four months of preparation and training to once
again redefine the limits of the impossible. Another
jump in the legend of the Soul Flyers.

Patrick de Gayardon qui s’élança d’un avion en wingsuit
avant de remonter à bord, Fred Fugen et Vincent
Reffet voulaient renouveler l’expérience mais à leur
manière : "en partant d’une falaise". Fin novembre,
les deux héros du parachutisme s’élancent à
4062 mètres d’altitude dans les Alpes Suisse à la
poursuite d'un Pilatus. À plus de 130 km/heure, la porte
d’1 m 58 de long sur 1 m 25 de haut peut s’apparenter
à un trou de souris. Quatre mois de préparation et
d’entraînement auront été nécessaires pour repousser
une nouvelle fois les limites de l’impossible. Un saut de
plus dans la légende des Soul Flyers.
