Ten years of a life for 74 days, 3 hours, 35 minutes and 46 seconds of
the fiercest battle. The dual of a man and his boat against the oceans
of the globe. At the age of 39, his third Vendée Globe was the right one
for the skipper of Banque Populaire VIII: "I’m beginning to realize that
I've done something massive. I've driven myself incredibly hard, I've
had to dig so deep. With my boat, we fought all the way to the end."
At 16.37 on January 19 2017, Armel Le Cléac’h entered the port of Les
Sables-d’Olonne. Like a giant of the sea.
Dix ans d’une vie pour 74 jours, 3 heures, 35 minutes et 46 secondes
d’un combat acharné. Le duel d’un homme et son bateau face aux mers
du globe. À 39 ans, sa troisième participation au Vendée Globe était donc
la bonne pour le skipper de Banque Populaire VIII : «Je réalise que j’ai fait
quelque chose d’énorme. Je me suis fais violence, je suis allé très loin
dans mes ressources. Avec mon bateau, on s’est battu jusqu’au bout.»
Il est 16 h 37 ce 19 janvier 2017, lorsque Armel Le Cléac’h entre dans le
port des Sables d’Olonne. Tel un géant de la mer.
