What's the secret?
Benjamin: "Julbo's role is to develop the product best suited to the needs
of each individual, using the toolbox at our disposal. How do we manage
to do that? By listening to the people on the ground. This allows us to
develop photochromic, polarized or non-polarized lenses adapted to the
sporting practices and environment of each person, whether they're a
mountain guide, freerider or sailor."

Benjamin : "Le rôle de Julbo, c’est de développer le produit qui convient le
mieux aux besoins de chacun, à partir de la boite à outils dont on dispose.
La solution pour y parvenir ? Se mettre à l’écoute du terrain. Ainsi, nous
développons pour chaque pratiquant, qu’il soit guide de haute montagne,
freerider ou marin, des verres et écrans photochromiques, polarisants ou
non, adaptés à leur pratique et à leur environnement."
Has Julbo's photochromic technology evolved over time?
Benjamin: "Yes! Super High Reactive (SHR) technology, for example,
now means the Zebra sunglasses and goggle lens gets lighter
15 to 20% faster than the original version we brought out
10 years ago. We've simultaneously worked on both reactivity speeds
AND general quality."
Est-ce que la photochromie Julbo a évolué ?
Benjamin : "Oui ! Le Super High Reactive (SHR), par exemple,
permet désormais au verre et écran Zebra de s’éclaircir 15 à
20% plus vite que la formule initiale, mise sur le marché il y a 10 ans.
Nous avons travaillé simultanément la vitesse d’éclaircissement ET
la qualité générale."
Although lightweight, your sunglasses and goggle lenses
are well-known for their toughness.
Benjamin:"NXT was developed by the US army for their helicopters.
The lenses are impact-resistant and the photochromic treatment
throughout the body of the lens comes with a lifetime guarantee."
Légers, vos verres et écrans sont réputés pour leur résistance.
Benjamin : "Le NXT a été développé par l’US Army pour les hélicos.
Les verres et écrans sont ainsi résistants aux impacts et le traite-
ment photochromie dans la masse est garanti à vie."
Aren't the lenses affected by extreme temperatures?
Benjamin: "From a chemical point of view, the functioning of the
photochromic pigments won't be optimum in very hot or very cold
weather. But NTS (Non Temperature Sensitive) treatment allows us
to combine reactivity and stability so that these extremes are no
longer an issue."
Ces verres et écrans ne craignent-ils pas les températures
extrêmes ?
Benjamin: "Chimiquement, les pigments photochromiques ne vont
pas fonctionner au mieux par temps très chaud ou très froid.
Le traitement NTS (Non Temperature Sensitive) permet
de combiner réactivité et stabilité, en faisant fi de ces extrêmes."
