Don't be fooled by appearances. With his bushy beard and long hair, Mike

Wardian could be mistaken for a trendy urban hipster. Not a bit of it.

At 42, this American hailing from Virginia is a running addict: "40 to 50

races a year, sometimes two a weekend," he confesses. From5 to 100miles

(or 160 kilometers), "it's a fantastic challenge and has radically changed

me not only as a person but also as an athlete."

He has solid references (2:17 hours in the marathon) and has demolished

the boundaries between disciplines: "I enjoy trails just as much as roads.

But in each competition, the aim is the same: to push my body and mind

to the absolute limits."

But beyond the records and other quantifiable considerations, Wardian's

life is marked by unforgettable memories. At random, he mentions

"admiring the stars one night at the Marathon des Sables, spending

30 hours during the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc with a total stranger,

climbing on the 100 km World Championships podium with the United

States bib on my back..."

At 42 years of age, this Julbo athlete runs competitions

over the whole planet, banking more than 50

competitions a year. His motto: "keep pushing the

limits". Portrait.

À 42 ans, l’athlète Julbo parcourt la planète course

à pied et engrange plus de cinquante épreuves

par année. Son leitmotiv : "Repousser les limites".
